Aavo is an invite and RSVP hub for celebrations that run to more than one event. This page is what it does, the things we've decided not to do, and where the money comes from.
What it is
One occasion, every event inside it
You create one occasion, say a wedding weekend or a milestone birthday, and add each event to it. Your guests open one link and answer once.
One occasion holds every event
Welcome drinks, the ceremony, the reception, Sunday brunch. Each keeps its own date, place and timezone, and all of them share one guest list.One link for each household

Why it exists
Most tools punish a second event
Add a rehearsal dinner and a farewell brunch to a wedding and most invite tools answer in one of two ways. Some charge again for every event, so a four-event weekend costs four times a one-afternoon party. Others make it the guests' problem: a separate invitation and a separate RSVP for each event, sent to the same households, chased separately.
Neither matches the thing being organized. It is one guest list, one set of decisions, one weekend. The number of events is a detail of the celebration, not a reason to charge more or to ask your family to reply four times.
So Aavo charges once for the whole celebration, whatever it holds, and asks each household to answer once. Every other decision in the product follows from that one.
Commitments
What we won't do
These are limits on us, not features waiting behind a payment.
We take no cut of your cash gifts
Registries and cash funds are the most profitable line in this category, and taking it would mean holding other people's money. We don't touch it. What your guests give you is yours, in full, and it never passes through us.
No advertising on an invitation, ever
Not on the free plan, and not as something a payment removes. Your invite page carries your celebration and nothing else: no banner, no registry pitch, no "make your own" button pointed at your guests.
No per-event pricing
Adding another event never changes your price. Charging by the event is the exact mechanism that makes other tools hostile to a multi-day celebration, and refusing it is the whole argument for building this.
Email invitations and reminders stay free
Sending costs nothing on every plan, the free one included. No per-message fee, no send limit, no credits to top up. Scheduling a reminder ahead of time is a paid convenience; sending one is not.
Your guest list is never held hostage
Export your guests and their replies as a spreadsheet whenever you like, on any plan, including after the celebration is over. Locking a host out of their own guest list is both hostile and a privacy problem.
How we make money
Hosts pay, once
A host pays once for a celebration, in Canadian dollars, and that covers every event in it. A larger guest list costs more, and there are a few optional extras. That is the whole business. Nobody else pays us, which is why nothing is being sold to your guests while they read your invitation.
The free plan publishes a real occasion rather than a locked preview, because an invitation people can actually open is how most hosts find us. If Aavo isn't worth paying for by the time you're inviting a hundred people, we'd rather you didn't.
